WWII German Troop Tent

$905.00$1,610.00

“The tent for troops had a capacity of 12 men or six camp beds. It measured 6x5m, with ridge height of 2.5m, and lateral heights of 1.2m. It was made of impregnated khaki-colored canvas. An additional roof-quarter (fly) was attached at a distance of 30cm above the roof for protection against the sun, and to give a cooling effect. The sun quarter had the same length as the tent, but was 1.9m longer at either side. The poles were about 30cm longer than was necessary for the tent proper to support the sun quarter.”

This information helped to produce the first “troop” tent many years ago. Since then we have built the design in colors ranging from light tan to dark grey and even dark OD. Seems everyone has a different take on what they are viewing in the photographs.

MUD FLAPS are standard on all walls. The standard width on the mud flap is 10″. Some vendors have requested we remove the mud flaps so as to allow walls to be more easily put up or taken down without moving poles, because on square and rectangular marquees the perimeter poles do rest on the mud flap. Some customers go with the segmented mud flaps if they want the protection and convenience. We are happy to do this.

Looking for a way to keep warm? We can install a silicon jack through which a stove pipe can exit your tent, enabling you to have a toasty warm wood stove right inside your tent.

All doors on Our tents come with tie closures, but we can substitute loops and wooden toggle closures.

On wall tents the 2nd door is always in the back wall.

Unless otherwise noted, Tentsmith tents are made out of 10 oz. white Sunforger – Flame resistant canvas.

All PRODUCTS ARE “CANVAS ONLY”. YOU WILL NEED POLES, ROPES, AND STAKES TO SET UP YOUR TENT, WHICH CAN BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.
